Brunel is seeking a Legal Contracts Administrator to work with a major Oil and Gas company in Spring, TX on a long term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal assistance to assigned attorneys or projects by conducting legal research, organizing files, scheduling depositions, and maintaining accurate records.
- Research state requirements for licensing and certification, prepare necessary documents, and maintain databases to prevent lapses in certifications.
- Collaborate with departments such as Accounting, HR, Risk Management, and Procurement to gather necessary inputs and ensure compliance.
- Monitor ongoing projects for adherence to contract requirements and certifications, providing minimal direction but utilizing expert knowledge and skills.
- Supervision: Supervise junior paralegals when needed, providing guidance and oversight.
- Review and prepare sub agreements, attend kickoff meetings to assess template suitability, and draft fit-for-risk language to support commercial strategies. Support the review and drafting of various templates, issue spotting, and making observations on inconsistencies during "cold eyes reviews." Prepare summaries and analyses, participate in template reviews with functional stakeholders, and support questions from stakeholders.
- Provide guidance to the Master Contracts team on complex negotiations and fit-for-risk terms.
- Analyze language in existing enabling agreements and assist with related tasks.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong ability to conduct thorough and precise legal research.
- Proficient in legal administration tasks with exceptional organizational and planning skills.
- High level of attention to detail in all tasks.
- Experience with unconventional contracts is a plus.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting and reviewing legal documents.
- Familiarity with commercial principles and experience in reviewing/negotiating related language.
- Experience negotiating MSAs or similar framework agreements.
- Preferably experienced in oil/gas or manufacturing sectors, particularly in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Legal roles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including formatting and redlining documents.
